Course Description

This course instructs the student how to protect themselves from workplace respiratory hazards. After successful completion, students will understand why protection is necessary and the responsibilities of both employer and employee. Students will also be able to identify the nature, extent and effects of common respiratory hazards as well as the operation, limitations and capabilities of respirators. Finally, students will learn about the selection, proper use, inspection, cleaning, maintenance and storage of respirators.
